About CanPaint

CanPaint helps people in Canada and the United States plan a painting job: how much paint to buy, which tools to get, and what a professional would likely charge. The numbers come from standard coverage rates and typical painter productivity, adjusted for local painter wages and sales tax in each Canadian province and US state, using government wage statistics.

Every estimate is for planning. Paint coverage depends on the brand and the surface, and real quotes depend on the painter.

How we make money

CanPaint is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. Visitors in Canada are sent to Amazon.ca. As an Amazon Associate, CanPaint earns from qualifying purchases. Buying through our links doesn't change your price.

When you ask for painter quotes, painting companies may pay us for introductions. That never changes the estimate you see.

Your privacy

Your answers are sent to our server only to work out the estimate, and we don't keep them. Your browser remembers your last estimate so it's there when you come back.

If you ask for painter quotes, we collect your name, email, postal or ZIP code, timing, notes and estimate. We share them with up to three painting companies near you, only so they can contact you about that job. We don't sell your details or add you to a mailing list.

If you're a painter and join our list, we keep your business name, email, postal or ZIP code, crew size and notes, only to send you homeowner requests in your area. Quotes you build with the painter tool stay in your browser and in the links you choose to share.
